Advanced Certification in Geriatric Care
Advanced Certification in Geriatric Care is an extensive training course, which will rely on simulation and individual demonstrations during the training.
This training is intended for health care and non-health care providers that have been identified with Career as Healthcare Staff.
This course is approved for the healthcare provider education grant and the AIC (Agency for Integrated Care) award to international domestic employees, under the Health Ministry.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, trainees will be able to
Understand the daily activities of Elderly
Knowledge on Personal Hygiene
Understand the common diseases in older persons
Handle and manage day-to-day care, techniques and strategies to prevent falls
Apply proper and safe transferring techniques, basic communication skills and safe practice of medication administration to elderly.
Perform first aid skills for common emergencies
Perform One Man Adult Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and proper usage of AED
Taking care of Diabetic patients
Taking care of patients with Dementia
Perform Acupressure points on pain relief and wellness
REQUIREMENT
Able to speak, read and understand English effectively.
No medical heart and lung conditions or any physical disabilities and injuries that will prevent from performing practical.
